Don’t look no more, find here the review you were looking for the Capture Pro by Peak Design.

One of my favorite and indispensable photography accessories, the Capture Pro, is also one of the cheapest and smallest of my gear. As my favorite type of photography evolves lots of traveling and due to have not so much time on each place to visit it, I need to take photos the fastest I can, on the least amount of time. So I need to have an easy access to the camera and to have it safe. If the camera is on a bag, sooner or later it will be tiring to open the bag, take the camera out, close the bag, take the photo, open the bag, insert the camera on the bag, close it and put it on your back.

Although there are bags that makes this process easier, I don’t think its the best way to be a full day taking photos.

You can also have the camera on your neck, but you’ll have always pain after a few hours, even if the camera is light. If you hold the camera on your hand, I don’t think it’s completely safe and you’ll have pain on your arms.

Review – Capture Pro by Peak Design

The accessory which I use and recommend is the Capture Pro, by Peak Design. This product is one of the most sucessfull products ever on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter. Since then, the company has been producing more and more great products, with the best quality and which have revolutionized the photo industry, with is innovation and high quality at a very reasonable price, compared with the most known brands.

The Capture Pro is like a clip, with a top and lower base, which you can put around your bag strap or your belt and which serves as base of the accessory.

To insert it around the strap or the belt, there are two screws and one of them serves as a pivot, on which the top base rotates over the lower one.

Then its inserting around the strap and fasten the screws to the maximum. If they are well tightened, it’s not possible to move the clip, even if you push it hard. If the strap is too thick, the screw needs to be unscrewed almost to the maximum, but eventually its possible to fasten it. Attention is necessary to keep the small groove turned down which serves as the last security for the camera.

The plate is like the ones on the tripods and it can be connected to the base of the camera.

When the camera is not needed, it can be fixed to the clip, through the opening where the camera plate enters. There’s a small red button that when pressed, the plate with camera can be removed. This button also has a security mode when turned on the side, serving as security if the button is accidentally.

There’s also a black button on the side, that when turned, it makes the plate entrance more or less tight, depending on one’s like.

Conclusion

The use of this product, makes me very fast to snap a photo, removing and inserting the camera very fast on the clip. More important than that, its that I don’t have any pains at the end of the day. I love this accessory, for more than 3 years that I have it and I can’t travel anymore without it.

When I use a hiking backpack, I use the clip without any problems around the strap.

When I use a normal bag it’s a little bit uncomfortable at the end of the day (if the camera with the lens is heavy), then I use it around my belt.

It’s always funny to see the look on people’s faces when they see a camera attached on my backpack or belt. If I didn’t knew this product, for sure I would really be thinking that only a crazy person does that 😀
